Responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and oversight of the Charge Description Master and reimbursement functions for Hospital, Physician Practice, and Home Health/Hospice. Work with revenue producing departments to ensure consistency of charge capture and to promote revenue integrity. The Chargemaster Analyst is also responsible for working with revenue cycle departments to assure systems are cross-walked correctly with the patient accounting systems in Meditech and LSS. Aid in the implementation of regulatory standards through continuous monitoring of charge descriptions, code additions and deletions, pricing, and allocation of revenue and GL codes. Maintain timely turnaround of all new and revised charge master requests.
Candidate must possess strong problem solving skills accompanied by knowledge of Medicare regulatory requirements related to compliance billing practices for hospital and physician. Extensive knowledge of the revenue cycle process including CPT/HCPCS, UB, 1500, Revenue Codes, modifiers, APC’s MUE’s, and CCE’s. Be well versed with spreadsheets and other office software applications. Hold an Associates’ degree in business, healthcare administration or equivalent experience. Coding certification a plus.
